Make your own yoga props

You don’t need to have the exact props we have in the studio to help with your practice, common household items can work - just get creative.

Straps

A belt from a dressing gown - these are nice and long * A scarf * A belt

Blocks

Books are perfect, try to find some that are the same size, or create a stack. Some people like to wrap the books up, to hold the pages together. * Food cans can be used for positions where you’re hands don’t quite reach the ground, like half way lift, or triangle pose

Bolsters

A pillow or cushions with a book underneath work really well. Wrap a scarf or belt around them to hold them together. The book underneath creates the firmness that you want in a bolster. Try to make the bolster about the same length as your torso so you can lie on it in restorative postures like childs pose.

Create a bolster by combining a book base, pillow or cushion on top, and held together with a dressing gown strap :)
