4-7-8 Breathing Timer

An absolute favourite of mine, this breathing technique is a really effective way to regulate your nervous system.

Start with 4 breaths 4 x a day - aiming for 4 x 5 minute sessions daily.

HOW TO DO IT

  • Place your tongue behind your top teeth

  • Close your mouth and quietly inhale through your nose

  • Hold your breath for a count of seven

  • Purse your lips, exhale through your mouth, making a whoosh sound for a count of eight.
