Zumba Challenge - Weekly Yoga Sessions

Are you feeling like you need to stretch it out after all of the Zumba with Mical? I’ve got you.

The option is yours, each week you have 1 x full yoga session (over 30 minutes) or 1 x quick yoga session (under 20 minutes) to pick from. Of course you can always do both!

And a bonus positive affirmation meditation you can do whenever you like, as many times as you like.

WEEK ONE

Long Yoga Session:

50mins

A balanced, full body 50 minute yoga session.

Starting and ending with relaxing meditations, with a great combination of movements in between to leave your mind and body feeling recharged

No props needed

Quick Yoga Session

A quick and gentle yoga session focusing on the upper back.


WEEK TWO

Long Yoga Session

32 mins

Learn some simple stretches that help to protect and heal wrist irritation and pain. Even if you have no issue with the wrist, this class is great to release tension from typing, driving, overuse, and to learn how some important things to be mindful of when you are on the mat. The intro to the class ends at 5:15

WEEK THREE

Full Length Session

45 mins

A 45 minute general yoga flow. For those times when you just want to move your body, feel connected to the present moment and bring your awareness to your breath.

PROPS: Strap

Who doesn’t love to stretch out their shoulder?!

For this simple full body yoga flow session you don’t need any props, but a strap, rolled up towel or long belt (dressing gown belts are perfect) will make some of the stretches feel so much better.


WEEK FOUR

Long Yoga Session

30 mins

A gentle yoga class, with a few stretches just for your hamstrings. The hamstrings are one of the hardest muscles in the body to stretch. You need to do it gently and to focus on small tweaks in your postures that target and create effective stretches to help to lengthen the hamstrings.

No props needed

Quick Session

One of the most requested areas of the body to stretch - the hips. A short session focusing on the best gentle stretches for your hips.


WEEK FIVE

Long Yoga Session

Spending a bit too much time behind your desk, sitting or driving? This is the class for you! Lets give a good stretch to the often tight Psoas muscle and reverse the constant hunching over the computer screen. A tight Psoas can cause a waterfall effect of issues on the body, from lower back pain, hip and knee issues, more pain full periods. It is shortened by prolonged periods of sitting and stress, so let's relax or minds, and stretch of muscles. Enjoy x

Feeling the need to relax your mind and body? This quick session is focused on slowing down your movements and relaxing.


WEEK SIX

Long Yoga Session

How supportive is your foundation? We wouldn't build a home on an unsteady foundation..... are you stacking your muscles, joints and bones on top of weak feet? If we are not placing weight correctly on our feet, overtime this can cause muscular imbalances, where some are overstretched and weak, and other tight. This can cause lack of support for joints, resulting in issues with our knees, hips and back. This session I will show you some exercises you can do to strengthen the arches in your feet, to release fascia in the feet, how to modify forward folds to protect your knees and tweaks in certain postures to help strengthen and effectively stretch muscles that protect your knees.
